Booking Conditions
Booking
Acceptance of the terms and conditions by the person making the booking with Algarve Getaways will constitute the acceptance of these terms and conditions by the whole party. A reservation is considered provisional until such time as the funds have been received and acknowledged by Algarve Getaways. A contract will exist as soon as we issue a confirmation.
Payment Options
Payment can be made by bank transfer or cheque directly into Algarve Getaways bank account and details will be provided as required. There is no charge for debit card (Maestro or Delta) payments but credit card (Visa or Mastercard) payments will incur a 3.5% surcharge. A charge of £10 or €10 per transaction is levied for payments made by bank transfers from non EU countries. All monies received and payments due for any of the services listed below will be set out in the confirmation issued by Algarve Getaways. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure all payments are made on time and as specified. Failure to pay monies due by the required date may result in cancellation of services and loss of any payments already received.
Prices
Rates quoted are in pounds (£) sterling. These may change any time and we reserve the right to amend these prices. You will be advised of the current price at the time of booking. Prices will not be changed once payment has cleared our account, providing that it has been made within the stipulated time.
Paying For Your Holiday
A 30% deposit of the total rate must be paid to Algarve Getaways by the stipulated date, once a provisional booking has been confirmed. The remaining 70% of the accommodation cost must be received by Algarve Getaways at least 9 weeks prior to your departure date. If your holiday is less than 10 weeks away, the full amount is payable immediately. If the deposit and/or full amount (if your holiday is less than 10 weeks away) are not received in time we reserve the right to cancel your accommodation. If the balance is not paid on time (see Cancellation by Guest), we reserve the right to cancel your accommodation and retain your deposit.
Accommodation
Every property on the Algarve Getaways website has been personally viewed and screened by us to ensure that it meets our strict criteria. We deal directly with the apartment or villa owner or their representative and never go through a third party, ensuring that we always have 100% control of your booking. As most of the rental properties are managed by our sister company, Getaways Property Services, in the unlikely event of an issue arising, it is dealt with quickly and efficiently. All of the properties conform to the Portuguese standards for rental licensing. All the apartments and villas are as advertised on the Algarve Getaways website and Algarve Getaways endeavours to keep photographs and descriptions as up to date as possible. Please note that in order to maintain our high standards, soft furnishings and other minor changes may occasionally be made and resort views may also change slightly, without photos being updated. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of description, information and prices, however it is possible that an advertised facility may be withdrawn or changed.
Confirmation
Please check your confirmation and all other documents you receive from us immediately on receipt. You must contact us straightaway if any information appears to be incorrect as it may not be possible to make changes later. If you cancel or alter your booking later on, you may have to pay an amendment charge. We reserve the right to refuse your booking.
Occupancy
The maximum occupancy for our villas and apartments is shown on our web site but there may be restrictions on the number of adults in some of these properties. Each property is reserved exclusively for the people named on the booking form and no other persons are permitted to stay at the accommodation unless this has been pre-authorized in writing with Algarve Getaways and appropriate payments made, if applicable. Additional guests will be asked to vacate by the local management. Should you fail to comply, we reserve the right to terminate your holiday with immediate effect and without liability. Please note that single sex parties or groups of young adults (under 25) may only be accepted at selected properties.
Cancellation By Guest
Any cancellations by the party leader or other named guests must be made in writing.

If the outstanding balance is not received within 7 weeks of the holiday, the holiday will be cancelled without further notice, the dates released and any deposits held will be forfeited.
An administration fee will be charged on all refunds.
If you have to cancel for a reason covered by your insurance policy, you should be able to recover the cancellation charges. Claims must be made directly to the insurance company concerned.
Cancellation By Algarve Getaways
In the unlikely event that your chosen property has to be withdrawn for any reason, we will inform you immediately. You will have the choice of either accepting an offer of alternative accommodation of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your holiday booking and receiving a full refund of all monies paid.
Security Deposit
Security deposits are required to be paid in advance and will be refunded electronically, subject to a final inspection of the property, within 3 working days of your departure. If a security deposit is paid in cash on arrival, every effort will be made to return this upon departure. Any accidental damage must be reported to the local manaager during the holiday period. Irrespective of whether a security deposit is taken or not, guests are liable for any damage, should replace any simple items, report major ones and pay for them before they leave. Guests are still liable for damage above the deposit amount. The lead guest is responsible for any damage or breakages caused by any member of his or her party.
Pets
All pets are strictly forbidden in any of our properties. Should you fail to comply, we reserve the right to refuse admission to the property and terminate your holiday with immediate effect and without liability to Algarve Getaways.
Access
Algarve Getaways and its management company Getaways Property Services, reserves the right to enter any property without prior notice should there be any suspicion that any of our Terms and Conditions have been breached and to take whatever action is deemed necessary to protect the interests of the owners and the property.
Water, Gas and Electricity
All water, gas and electricity is included in the weekly rental price. Demand for these services often outstrips supply during peak periods, water pressure can drop and circuit breakers can become overloaded by too many appliances being used at once. Lack of rainfall at times can also mean water shortages so please use water sparingly. Algarve Getaways is not responsible for the failure of any of these public services.
Force-Majeure
Algarve Getaways cannot accept liability due to circumstances beyond its control, amounting to ‘force majeure’. This includes war or threat of war, industrial action, terrorist activity, riots, civil strife, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, flood, bad weather conditions and similar events beyond our control.
Special Requests
Please inform us in writing if you have a special request. We will do our best to comply but cannot guarantee to do so and it will not form part of our contracted obligations. We will make every effort to accommodate your request and inform the relevant supplier concerned. However we cannot guarantee that special requests will be provided and recommend that you repeat your request to the relevant supplier at the appropriate time.
Complaints
If you have cause for complaint whilst on holiday, this must be brought to the attention of a local manager immediately so that action can be taken at the time to rectify the problem. Very often what may seem to be a serious problem can be resolved relatively easily when the complaint is visible and local knowledge can be used. If the complaint is not resolved before your departure, a complaint must be made in writing within 7 days of return, to Algarve Getaways, outlining the difficulties experienced. Any claims received outside this period or not reported on holiday cannot be considered as if you do not tell us about your complaint promptly, it may prove difficult to investigate or rectify. No liability can be accepted where this procedure has not been followed.
Data Protection
Algarve Getaways will take all reasonable measures to ensure that your personal details remain private and will never sell on any personal information to a third party. By booking with Algarve Getaways you agree to allow us to contact you for marketing purposes. You do however have the option to opt out of this at any time.
