Like home from home, we look forward to it all year
Matthew, Shepperton, Surrey, August 2014
This beautiful and peaceful Monte is like a home from home for us. The breath-taking views and stunning scenery are amazing and the Monte itself is very well-appointed and has plenty of intrinsic rustic charmbut has been sympathetically renovated so that there is everything one needs. It has a very lovely swimming pool and two terraces. It is remote enough to feel at peace without feeling isolated and the village is just a pleasant walk away with Ourique and a well-stocked supermarket just a 20 minute drive away. The Algarve is an hour's drive so that all the main places can be reached easily. If you feel adventurous there are other beaches on the Western coast such as Milfontes which are well worth the visit.
Our best trip yet - we all loved it!
Jackie & David, Chelsmford, Essex, July 2014
A beautiful tranquil villa, feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, when in fact you can walk into the village in a few minutes and can drive to Pingo Doce in Ourique within about 10 minutes...just perfect. The villa was spotless and David and Hilda are helpful, knowledgeable and extremely eager to please. Nothing is too much trouble. We have been travelling with Algarve Getaways since inception and this was probably our best trip yet. We all loved it.
Another brilliant holiday, it is a paradise
Matthew & Guida, Shepperton, August 2013
We have had another brilliant holiday at Monte Novo and looks like we will be back again next summer. As always we were given a very warm welcome by the lovely Hilda & Dave and everything was spotless. We have loved every minute of our holiday, Monte Novo is a paradise.
Secluded without being isolated, one of our best holiday finds
Sue & Dave, Fleet, July 2013
We've had a marvellous couple of weeks - secluded without being isolated. Monte Novo has been one of our best holiday finds. Even in serious heat the house has stayed cool & the pool is just great. We've been so comfortable we haven't been far but Beja exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Hilda & Dave, we've had a great holiday.
A wonderfully relaxing week with beautiful views
Charlotte & Paul, Brighton, June 2013
We've had a wonderfully lazy & relaxing week at Monte Novo, just what we were after. We spent most of the time floating in the pool, getting through your book collection, having BBQ's & enjoying the beautiful views & weather. We were very sad to leave & return to reality!
The villa was lovely
Chris, Oswestry, August 2012
Wow, the villa was above our expectations. It was lovely & VERY well presented! Hilda & Dave made us feel very welcome & gave sound advice on where to go. The service was excellent & would definitely use Algarve Getaways again.

We fell in love with the location, breathtaking views from every direction and the pool area was outstanding! Hilda and Dave were really very welcoming and friendly and everything was spotless.
The perfect place to unwind
Hennie & Martin, Poole, August 2011
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable two weeks at Monte Nova - a perfect place for unwinding, and an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area and both coasts. The villa was wonderful – everything we expected and more. Thank you.
A wonderful villa with exceptional views
Martin, Rickmansworth, July 2011
We had a wonderful time. The Monte Nova is a great place to stay, a wonderful remote villa with exceptional views across the countryside whilst lazing around the pool. Efficient and honest service. Would certainly use Algarve Getaways again and have already recommended to friends.
We were most impressed by the whole experience
Indiana, London, April 2011
The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival and very comfortable. We loved simply relaxing and chilling on some days, whilst exploring on others. Beautiful sunrises and breathtaking sunsets were the perfect start and end to every day. There is an excellent supermarket in Ourique and we had a wonderful meal at the Coimbra restaurant on the IC1, and one of the best pepper steaks ever. We also liked going down to the little village of Santana da Serra and sitting at the snack bar, watching the villagers go about their business and buying a few provisions from the local store. We could not have relaxed more if we had tried! We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely old villa and will definitely be back.
The perfecty idyll
Kevin, Newcastle, August 2010
We had a lovely week in Monte Novo. It truly is the perfect idyll. It is a beautiful villa with everything you could wish for. The finish and attention to details are great. The leaflets provided were very useful and we explored extensively and thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding areas.
Too many highlights to mention
David, Reading, April 2010
We had a really lovely time and enjoyed ourselves enormously. You are really lucky to have such a lovely villa in such a wonderful area. There were too many highlights to mention. Fabulous walks, storks, hoopoes, the restaurant in the village of Santana da Serra where the people were fabulous...
