Parque Aventura, Albufeira

The park is situated in Albufeira (Santa Eulália). Open all year, Parque Aventura opened in 2010 and offers various courses in the trees and a Paintball area of 2500m2 with natural obstacles. The park offers courses accessible from 4 years old (no physical training is required to enjoy the courses).

Krazy World Zoo, Algoz

The Krazy World Zoo Algarve is a theme park located in Algoz, Messines in the Algarve. The theme park offers many fun activities such as live shows, guided tours, feeding the farm animals, karting, bouncy castles, pony & horse riding, mini golf and so on. Animations and other fun stuff to do are also available, as well as a snack bar & restaurant. Speacial deals in the winter also available.

Karting Family Park, Almancil

FEBRUARY

Loulé Carnaval, 17th February

3 days of celebration in February (or occasionally March) of parades, music and dancing, the 3rd being Shrove Tuesday. The centre of Loulé (Avenida José da Costa Mealha) is shut off for the carnival and it costs a few euros to get in. It is worth arriving early - the procession starts at 15h00 but you will need time to find parking, especially if you haven't been to Loulé before.

This year it runs from the 14th to the 17th of February (except Monday the 16th).

MARCH

13th International Festival of Sand Sculpture - Fiesa 2015, 20th March - 20th October

Fiesa is the largest sand sculpture exhibition ever built, held annually since 2003 in Pêra, Algarve, attracting thousands of visitors every year. The sand is hand-carved by a group of sculptors, of various nationalities, exploring different sculpting techniques, producing original pieces that stand out by their magnitude, technique and aesthetics. FIESA is regarded as the largest event of its kind in the world as it uses 40,000 tonnes of sand, covering 15,000m2, with some reaching 12 metres in height, reproducing in amazing detail representations of people, objects and different scenarios. In this 13th edition visitors can see around hundred different sand scenes, inventively depicting, musicians, instruments and musical cultures from around the world.

ENI FIM Superbike World Championship, 5th - 7th June

This event will be held at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão.

12th Festival MED, 25 - 27 June

Held in Loule, this festival is famed for being one of the biggest World Music festivals in Europe and it's on for 3 days, with 500 hours of music and 42 concerts on 6 stages!

JULY

34th Faro International Motorbike Meet, 16th - 19th July

Held in Faro, one of the biggest and most legendary motorbike meets in the whole of Europe...4 days of bikes, concerts and entertainment.

Chicken Festival

Held in Guia, for 3 days the tempting aromas of barbecued chicken will fill the air in this festival dedicated to the delicacy!

Craft Fayre

Displays and sales of traditional crafts of the region takes place over 9 days. There will also be music and various artists each day.

AUGUST

19th Olhos de Agua Sardine Festival

Based in Olhos de Agua, staged over a three-day period and featuring what seems to be an endless supply of freshly cooked sardines. There is also live music from 20h00.

The event will be held at Largo dos Pescadores in Olhos de Agua.

Silves Medieval Festival

Typical scenes of everyday medieval life will fill the streets of this historic town centre with beggars, travelling musicians, jugglers, exotic characters and may other attractions. Everday from 6pm.

Festival Al-Buhera

Festival of world music played by both national and international groups. Live demonstrations of crafts by local artisans as well as displays of craftworks. Event held at Fishermans beach in the Old Town, Albufeira.

Assumption of the Virgin, 15th August

Bank holiday.

Albufeira Municipal Holiday, 20th August

Bank holiday. Albufeira celebrates with sports events and entertainment in the day and fireworks in the evening.

36th FATACIL in Lagoa, 21st - 30th August

Considered to be the biggest event in Southern Portugal, hundreds of exhibitors representing various sectors of the regions outstanding products from the land and sea, concerts every night too. 6pm - 1.30am.

Loulé White Night / Noite Branca, 29th August

This "end of summer" uber-party turns the entire central business district of Loule into one giant chillout lounge. Don't miss the ritual of entertainment, food, dancing and celebration on Saturday, 29th August. Dress code (of course) is striclty white.

The event is held on Avenida José da Costa Mealha and starts at 19h35. Entrance is free.

SEPTEMBER

18th Albufeira's Fisherman Feast, 4th -6th September

This is celebrated in the Old Town, along with the folklore festival. This event is carried out over a 2 day period and starts daily from 6pm.

Gastronomy Festival

For a week in September the Gastronomy festival takes place, where various participating restaurants will be cooking dishes to show the gastronomy of the region.

Oktoberfest Beer Festival, 24th - 29th September

Held at VILA VITA Parc Resort in Porches from 7 to 10pm.

World Tourism Day, 27 September.

Albufeira offers plenty to entertain the tourists with various shows throughout the day.

OCTOBER

Feira da Guia, 8th October

Traditional fayre selling clothes, jewellry, trinkets, porcelain,etc held in the small town of Guia.

Portugal Golf Masters, 15th - 18th October

Held at the Oceânico Victoria golf course in Vilamoura and as always the tournament will host the best European golfers with golf fans flooding in to watch the action!
